Solutions for every Stage.

Production Management One came to Contrast & Co. at a pivotal moment. The company had the expertise and experience to support complex live events nationwide, but its brand needed to better reflect the scale of its work and the evolution of its business. We set out to create a stronger, more scalable brand—one that could sharpen PM1’s story, strengthen sales and proposal communications, and clearly connect its two core business units, Structures & Seating and Full Production Services, within one cohesive identity.

A bold new message and visual identity.

PM1’s breadth was one of its greatest strengths, but also one of its biggest communication challenges. The company needed to explain what it does without reducing the brand to a list of services, equipment, or production capabilities—or falling into the generic language of a “one-stop shop.” The stronger opportunity was to position PM1 as a production management partner: the team that understands how every moving part works together, whether building the physical environment, managing full production, supporting a focused assignment, or integrating seamlessly into a larger event ecosystem. That thinking led to a clearer brand story and a bold new expression built around a simple idea: Solutions for every stage.

I've been doing this for 30 years, and I consider Contrast & Co.'s work the best branding work ever.

A highly scalable messaging platform.

“Solutions for every stage” was designed to do more than function as a tagline. It became a flexible messaging construct that could adapt across audiences, event types, business units, and campaigns. Expressions such as “Solutions for every soirée,” “Solutions for every rally,” or “Solutions for every type of event” allow PM1 to demonstrate its versatility while maintaining a consistent brand voice. The platform can support sales outreach, digital marketing, event-specific promotions, division-level communications, and future campaigns—giving PM1 a simple, memorable way to show that it has the expertise, resources, and solutions to meet the moment.

An endlessly configurable visual identity.

The visual system was designed to give PM1 more presence, range, and consistency across every touchpoint while remaining flexible enough to support two distinct business units. Bold condensed typography creates scale and immediacy. High-impact photography captures both sides of the PM1 story: the finished event experience and the behind-the-scenes craft that makes it possible. Detail shots of structures, equipment, hands, rigging, seating, staging, and production environments add credibility and texture. A palette anchored by orange, navy, black, white, and cream can feel energetic, industrial, premium, or practical depending on the application. A refined logo system extends easily across digital, apparel, signage, presentations, proposals, and event-facing materials. Comprehensive digital brand guidelines bring the entire system together, giving internal teams and external partners a flexible, always-current source of truth as the brand continues to grow.

A brand designed to leave a mark.

PM1’s work is physical, high-pressure, and deeply operational. The brand needed to capture that grit without sacrificing the confidence and sophistication required for corporate, civic, political, sports, and large-scale event audiences. The resulting identity balances spectacle with structure, audience experience with operational precision, and live-event energy with the calm expertise required behind the scenes.PM1 emerged with a clearer story, a stronger strategic foundation, and a more scalable brand system—one that positions the company not simply as a provider of equipment or production support, but as a trusted partner for high-stakes live event solutions.PM1 doesn’t just deliver pieces of an event. It delivers the strategy, structure, coordination, and calm required to make every stage work.
