Project Manager

The opportunity

Exceptional creative work takes thoughtful planning, clear communication, and someone who knows how to bring all the moving parts together.

As Project Manager at Contrast & Co., you’ll guide projects from intake through delivery, helping our team do its best work while creating an efficient, engaging, and enjoyable experience for clients and partners. You’ll own project timelines, resourcing, and budget tracking, and provide project financial reporting across the agency.

You’ll work closely with leadership, our Associate Account Directors, and the creative team. Associate Account Directors own client relationships and account strategy. You own how the work gets done—building plans, coordinating reviews, keeping priorities clear, and making sure the right people see the right work at the right time.

Our engagements often involve parallel workstreams across strategy, brand, messaging, design, websites, and campaigns. You’ll bring the organization to manage that complexity, the judgment to anticipate challenges, and the adaptability to keep improving how we work.

We’re looking for someone who can see the bigger picture while staying close to the details: an experienced project manager with strong interpersonal instincts, a friendly demeanor, and the initiative to turn plans into progress.

What success looks like

  • The team knows what comes next. Priorities, responsibilities, deadlines, and dependencies are clear, with current project information available in Asana.
  • Projects stay on track. You anticipate roadblocks, coordinate resources, and address changes before they become bigger problems.
  • Project finances are visible. Budgets are tracked consistently, and leadership has timely reporting to understand performance and make informed decisions.
  • Clients and partners feel prepared. Meetings, reviews, approvals, and production handoffs happen with clear expectations and appropriate notice.
  • Our processes keep improving. You identify what slows us down and help the team adopt better tools, templates, and ways of working.

What you’ll do

Plan and manage creative projects

  • Manage projects and deliverables from intake and briefing through final client handoff.
  • Build project plans, timelines, and resourcing recommendations that balance creative quality, team capacity, and delivery expectations.
  • Coordinate parallel workstreams across brand, web, and campaign engagements.
  • Anticipate dependencies and roadblocks, communicate risks early, and adjust plans as needs evolve.

Keep teams aligned and informed

  • Schedule and coordinate internal and client meetings, creative reviews, and collaboration sessions.
  • Lead the team’s daily morning standup and prepare the weekly regroup deck.
  • Ensure working tasks are captured in Asana, with accurate ownership, deadlines, and status updates.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for project logistics, partnering with Associate Account Directors to keep clients informed of timelines, deliverables, and next steps.

Track budgets and coordinate delivery

  • Track project budgets and provide financial reporting across agency engagements.
  • Flag changes that affect scope, timing, budgets, or resources, working with account leadership and the creative team to determine next steps.
  • Give production and proofreading partners advance notice of incoming files, coordinate handoffs, and manage timeline expectations.

Support new engagements and improve how we work

  • Contribute to proposals with recommendations on engagement approaches, timelines, and resourcing.
  • Prepare brand process presentation templates and content frameworks for brand and web projects.
  • Conduct initial naming and ownability scans for brand projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and help the team put better approaches into practice.

How we work

Our five values guide every hire, review, and promotion at Contrast & Co. Here’s what they look like in this role.

We push past what we know.
Stay curious about how we can work better. When a process isn’t working, propose a better tool, template, or workflow—and help the team adopt it.

We lead from every seat.
Take initiative and bring solutions forward. Lead the morning standup, anticipate roadblocks, and take action while keeping the right people informed.

We sweat the craft.
Care about the details behind the work. Your project plans, Asana tasks, budgets, and timelines should be clear and current enough for others to understand project status without needing to ask.

We show up as partners.
Help everyone around you feel prepared and supported. Give colleagues, clients, production partners, and proofreaders a clear understanding of what’s coming, what’s needed, and when.

We remain steady and positive.
Bring perspective when deadlines tighten or priorities shift. Reset the plan, communicate clearly, and help the team move forward with confidence.

What you bring

  • At least four years of experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role, with agency or creative environment experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience defining project scope, building project plans, and managing against timelines and budgets.
  • Experience coordinating parallel creative workstreams across brand, web, and campaign projects.
  • Proficiency with project management tools; Asana experience is preferred.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to coordinate confidently with internal teams, clients, and outside partners.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Clear, thoughtful written and verbal communication.
  • Attention to detail, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.
  • A collaborative attitude, openness to feedback, and the ability to remain constructive when priorities change.

Availability to work from our Annapolis, Maryland, office a few days a week is preferred, though not required.
